Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ’s
Pets, like humans, have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system is comprised of various receptors which are affected by cannabinoids such as Cannabidiol (CBD).
CBD oil can relieve pain and inflammation (arthritis), reduce anxiety, help fight cancer and help with the treatment of neurological disorders.
All of our products are non-psychoactive and don’t contain THC.
How much CBD should I be giving my pet?
There are two main factors to consider when finding the correct dose for your pet. One is your pet’s weight, and the other is the severity of their ailment. For most ailments you will be able to dose your pet based off our weight-based formulas but if your pet is dealing with a severe ailment (chronic pain, inflammation, debilitating disease etc.) you will want to consider giving them a higher strength formula than their weight class.
A typical dose is 1 ml per day and the bottles have a very clear measured dropper. We recommend starting off with a half dose 2x per day.
That’s great that you sell CBD for pets – I wish you sold it for humans too!
Good news, my friend! We carry a great line of CBD products for humans called Hemp Heal. From gummies and oils in 3 different strengths to topical creams, we’ve got you covered – literally!
I saw somewhere that you sell magnesium products for pets. Can you tell me about more about that?
We sure can. We’ve created our own line of magnesium products (with the help of Mila Earth Body Care) that are designed to help relieve pain and inflammation (arthritis), reduce anxiety, and soothe itchy, flaky skin and hot spots. We carry sprays, balms and flakes, all of which can be used on both pets and humans.
As a side note, all of our magnesium products also work tremendously well when combined with our CBD products, because magnesium has such a high level of absorption into the body.
Do you make all the Bob the Dog treats yourself?
Indeed we do. We created all of our own recipes, and we use only human grade products. Pretty much everything we use can be found in a regular kitchen.
We upcycle all of our fish products (salmon, cod and halibut) from C-Lovers Fish and Chips (both the North and West Vancouver locations), meaning that while it doesn’t get used for human consumption, it is absolutely perfect for making our Crispy Salmon Skin, Kettle Cod, Hali-But Bites and Teeny Salmon Treats.
What are the ingredients in your dog treats?
Our treats do not contain any additives or preservations and are completely human grade. The proteins are either liver, salmon, or halibut and the remaining ingredients are whole wheat flour, ground oats, organic 1% milk, free range eggs and canola oil.
We do not use any chicken proteins – our Bob is allergic, as are many dogs – so we just skip it all together.
Awww, I don’t have a dog – do you happen to sell anything for cats?
We sure do! We have a Cat Formula CBD oil that is made with Alaskan salmon oil – and we have a number of cat customers who enjoy our Kettle Cod (simply dehydrated cod) and our Crispy Salmon Skin.
Where about’s are you located? Where can I find your products?
We are located in beautiful North Vancouver, British Columbia. You can find us at many a Farmers Market across the Lower Mainland throughout the year and you can also purchase almost all of our products online. While we ship everywhere, and we’ve also been known to do free deliveries throughout the Lower Mainland at a moment’s notice.
There are SO MANY pet products out there – why should I buy from Bob the Dog?
You are right – there ARE so many pet products out there, and we don’t claim to have it all. However, what we do have is a wonderful boutique style line up of top quality health and wellness products for both you and your pet. Products that are made with so much love and care, you can’t help but notice.
Combine that level of quality with our absolutely top notch customer service and you can see that The Philosophy of Bob the Dog rings true in everything we do.
And the most frequently asked question – is Bob the Dog YOUR dog?
Yes!! Bob is our real life dog whom we love to bits. He is a Whoodle (Wheaton Terrier/Poodle cross) who was born in the summer of 2014. We brought him to his forever home on January 1, 2016 – what a beautiful way to start the New Year! It was honestly the best decision we ever made.
As many of you have learned, we can talk about Bob forever, so if you ever want to know anything about him, or Whoodles in general, just ask (and maybe put aside an hour or so).
