The Harris Barn is one of Delta’s most treasured heritage landmarks. Originally built in the early 1900s on Hopcott Road in Tilbury, the barn was later moved to 64 Street in 1940. When faced with demolition in 2012, it was carefully dismantled and relocated to 4140 Arthur Drive, the historic site of Kirkland House. Reconstructed with the expertise of McDonald and Lawrence Timber Framing, the barn was brought back to life through a remarkable community effort. In August 2012, Delta hosted an old-fashioned barn raising, where hundreds of volunteers gathered to help re-erect the structure. Today, the Harris Barn stands as a symbol of community spirit, craftsmanship, and heritage preservation.
